Aquascapes

  • Web & SEO
The Aquascapes site banner: a backyard vinyl pool glowing at night beside a timber cabana, under the headline "Waterloo Region vinyl pool specialist since 1994" and a 30-years badge.

Project overview

Objective

Aquascapes has been Waterloo Region's vinyl pool specialist since 1994 — but its web presence didn't reflect thirty years of craft. The business needed a modern site that does real work: taking seasonal bookings and payments online, ranking in local search, and staying visible in the places people now actually ask questions — Google, Bing, and AI assistants.

The brief was measurable, not cosmetic: fast, accessible, search-ready, and wired into the tools the owners use every day.

The solution.

Solution

I rebuilt aquascapesrc.ca from scratch in Astro with React islands — including a multi-step booking wizard that walks customers through opening, closing, and maintenance flows (seasonal week scheduling, holiday-adjusted calendars) and takes payment through Stripe. The build scores 99 Performance, 100 Accessibility, 96 Best Practices, and 92 SEO on Lighthouse — verified AODA-grade accessibility, not a claim.

Around the site I built the communications infrastructure: Google Business Profile setup with automated posting, Google and Bing search setup, and a Google Apps Script reporting engine that pulls GA4, Search Console, Bing, GBP, Clarity, and PageSpeed data directly from the APIs into Google Sheets. A Cloudflare Worker exposes those reports as an MCP server, so the analytics can be queried conversationally from Claude.

The site is also built for the AI-search era: schema, an API catalog (RFC 9727), an MCP server card, an A2A agent card, and WebMCP tools — independently verified as "Agent-Integrated" on isitagentready.com.
